Quick start: uploading and hosting
Upload and host Clipstream™ Audio quickly when all the generated files are in the same folder.

Basic Functions | Licensing Clipstream™ Audio 3

* for step-by-step encoding, please start the Wizard.

After generating all the files

Make sure you have all of the needed files to play audio

After you have encoding, click the "Yes" button when asked: "Would you like to launch demo pages?"

A page will open in your browser showing two examples of Clipstream™ Audio using your chosen audio file. This page now exists in the folder where you chose to encode your files to.

In your operating system you can see these files in their location like this example:

Now upload ALL these files

Upload the entire directory to your website

The quickest easiest way to get the audio up on your website is to upload the entire directory. Use an FTP program or your webhost and upload them.

Making changes to the generated page?

By default, the generated page is titled after your source audio file.

ex.
If your source audio file was: "mysound.mp3" then the page will likely be "mysound.html".

You can open this page in any web page editor or even in a text editor.

Removing the banner

You can remove the Clipstream™ banner by deleting this part in the page:

<a href="http://clipstream.com" target="_blank"><img src="http://clipstream.com/img/logos/gen_banner.gif" border="0"></a></p>

Delete that and save the page.

Moving the player

The part that contains the player in your web page looks like this:

<script language="JavaScript" src="mysound.js"></script>

In coding terms, this is a link to a file called mysound.js (by default the .js file is named after your source audio file) that governs how the audio file is played.

If you change the link or move the file it refers to this may break the link between this page and the audio.

You can paste this code anywhere on the page where you want the player to appear.

Embedding the player in another page

The easiest way is to have the page you want to embed this link to in the same location as the generated files. Copy and paste the <script language="JavaScript" src="mysound.js"></script> link into the page code of the new page.

See Embedding Clipstream Audio 3 in a Custom Page for step by step instructions on how to do this.

Watch the link
If you wish to place this link in another page such as one you have made custom for your website you must make sure that the link is still correct.

If your custom page is in the same folder or directory as the default generated files you have uploaded to your website, then the link should already work. Otherwise, please refer to the Codebasing page for more advanced linking.
